The Music

So, what exactly is ‘Americana Music’?

It’s a lot of things, and a lot of different things to different listeners. It’s all interesting, creative, and genuine.

Roots 66 pays homage to the past while adding a touch of today’s edgy and creative music from the most interesting singers and songwriters you’ll ever hear.

Roots 66’s version of Americana includes the obvious icons like Johnny Cash and Buddy Holly, while saluting the power and prose of contemporary artists like Robert Earl Keen, Lucinda Williams, and the Subdudes.

It’s a little bit of rock, a little blues, a lotta country, and an attitude that says, heck, if we like it, you will too. The attitude part is that the music is fresh, yet a little raw, edgy, yet familiar, and above all, fun to hear and fun for us to play.

Just as Roots and Americana terms that cover a lot of ground, Roots 66 leaves no musical avenue unexplored. We perform tunes from the Beatles and the Stones, to Willie Nelson and Roger Miller; from The Band and Steve Earle, to Fred Eaglesmith, Jackson Browne, and many others.

When you take a ride down Roots 66, you’re traveling in a rag top filled with interesting story telling, passionate personalities, and memorable musicianship.

We’re a little country, a little rock, a bit of the blues, and a whole bunch of fun.
Roots 66. From California to Texas to New Orleans and Jamaica, you'll
love the roads we travel.
